Ram air box for flatslides?

Im having a bit of trouble getting a set of flatslides to fit with my ram air box[kit kawasaki type]the underside of the carbs [cylinder that removes to get into the jets]is hitting the ridge/bottom of the box and the carbs are still a good 15mm from seating into the rubbers.Anybody had this trouble before or got an idea to solve it????

It's shouldn't be a problem, have you got the box fully pushed over the rubbers, under the lip where the large carb circlips go?

Yea box is as far as it will go over rubbers and hard against the frame on the lip for lid?

I have the bottom half or a carbon airbox that is ready to used for flatsides.....

i use an AMS ram air box with my flatslides.........

It is possible to have a ram air box that is designed for use with CV carbs...........and flatside will not fit with this type of box..............I know I've got one and the flatsides foul rather badly and will NOT fit.
In the case of my box it is the cable bracket on the flatsides that causes the problem...............that and the box not being able to accomidate it

The solution is to get yourself a box designed to fit flatsides

yea iv had a similar problem with the return cable bracket, we dont use this anyway so just cut it off.. as for float bowl mine was just hitting on the tube to the idle jet, very long tube really so just filed it down on an angle till I got what I wanted. hope this helps.

This has reminded me of a problem, same as above, the return cable bracket fouled the box, as I/we only used the pull cable, the bracket was bent out of the way. I've got the BBplastics box for CV carbs, and the flatslides go straight in with just bending the bracket as above. The bigger problem is if you buy a box for Flatslides then try to fit CV's, the 'butterfly adjusters' hit the box when opening the throttle as I found out :smt013
