bike dead

Washed my bike yesterday not with pressure washer,but with hose,now my bike is completely dead.no lights on dash ad doesn't turn over.

Check the main 30amp fuse down on the left hand side of the sub frame, should be in a little holder of its own. If that blown then water has more than likely got somewhere it shouldnt, also check the fuses in the fusebox under the seat.

Thanks, all the fuses in fuse box are fine but the 30amp i'm having problems checking.i can't get into it to check its corroded shut,i guess this is the problem.

I also had an alarm fitted saturday,i'm wondering has this drained the battery,its brand new battery but have a feeling its not charging properly so might need new rec.How do i check battery?

Ahh if its corroded that could be your problem, try and prise it apart. Best way to check battery is with a multimeter. Its not uncommon for alarms to drain the battery, better off without them to be honest. Measure the battery voltage if you can and let us know what is says. Alternatively charge the battery and see if it changes anything.

don't mean to sound thick never used one before but how to i use the multimeter?Don't laugh i'm a newbe to all this

worked out multimeter i think,battery is reading 12.19 if that makes sense

Thanks rob think i've found my problem i managed to get into 30amp fuse and its melted also its only a 25amp thats in there.could this be the reason my headlight bulbs keep blowing

Bike is now alive again,you get a good buzz when you fix something when you thought you couldn't.thanks rob for pointing me in the right direction.ripped my thumb open trying to prize it open but atleast the bike is running again

Glad to see you did it, well done for doing it yaself too!! Yes, always a buzz when a bike works when you fix it, just as good as riding the bike itself!!
