sticky throttle

need some help/advice...

i've bought a neglected h1, its been stood five years plus,
and i got it running yesterday, but the throttle is sticky (imagine the horror, bike stood years, get it to fire, then nothing to 9000rpm cold!)
the cables aren't brilliant, but i think the butterfly spindle is sticking, too.
is this a common thing, and is it stripdown job, or a wd40 job?

ta,
cliff

good clean of the carbs and some wd40 down the cables.

is the cable routed correctly? Check manual for proper routing :) If thats ok then id suggest dropping a bit of WD40 on the return springs in between each carb and work that in by opening and closing the throttle. Cant think of much else other than oil the cables, but you say they are ok.

if its been stood 5 years + i'd say the carbs would be seized well and truly!

thanks for the advice!
problem solved the easy way, rather than strip down the carbs to sort butterfly shaft, and spend money on rebuild/seal kits, and risk breaking/rounding something off,
i'm buying some carbs instead, much easier!
at least it ran, i was expecting a clattery bang when i spun her over...
suppose i best start a build thread of sorts...
