I know this is a zxr site and I know I'm always asking questions in the wrong thread, but I've tried everywhere.

The mechanic doing my bike is banging his head against the wall trying to find the valve timing marks/cam positions for my gsxr 400 gk76a.
He/we have asked on every possible suzuki forum and tried every single bike shop, including Suziki themselves, who have promised to get back to us.
Obviously I am having no luck.

Can anyone help?

a bit of diggin around the www suggests a GSF400 and GSXR400 engine are very similar, these are the extracts from the GSF400 manual, if you are desperate then its gotta be worth checking out??

Thanks you so much. This site is so good, that's exactly what I wanted. On a sadder note He's done this and it's still not working. The arrow on the new engine, which Cheshire Motorcycle Salvage(what a load of w**nkers!)has the timing arrow in a different place? Also the mechanic said as the bike has been left out under a cover all winter the cdi may be knackered.

I've had bikes under the cover outside for 9 Winters now and never had a CDI go...

If the engine is a year or two later than my original engine will the cdi still be compatible?

Will try and get photos.
