Help... what is this lil doofer?
hey guys,
re doing the loom and a few things on my race bike to get ready for the winter series, and i came across this thing, it appers to be an optical switch ? i havnt yet cut this current loom open but if no one knows then i will do so.

it was cased in insulation tape hahaha, the guy before me that made the loom i guess? may have taken it out of the box?
it was 3, labled ; ign, out, gnd

little more info, ign is hooked into power supply to cdi, ( red in four pin plug ) gnd is conected to a ground wire, out is hooked to the pink wire in the 6 pin plug on cdi, was hooked up with nothing obstructing the switch if that makes sense ( nothing in the line of the IR beam)

when me n redex rob deristricted my h2, we done it by using the internals of a speedo, and that looks very familiar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its the 180kmph restrictor thingy but its out of ur clocks so should be ok

yeah thats restrictor unit from restricted clocks. That big black bit would normally have a tag that passes through it when the clocks reach 180km. Without that tag it is effectively a derestrictor because the tag isnt present. So your CDI will never be told that its reached 180km and allow you to rev through to your hearts content

if you do youre revs will be limited to about 10,000 rpm

no you cant m8t. the bike will rev clean to 10k then
and splutter( i disconected mien earlier by mistake when cleanign it and then couldnt work otu why it was spluttering @10k)

hmmmm that wont be handy considering iv got now power until 8500 at the moment haha
, i will get onto invstigating what sort of a signal it is sending the cdi to work out how to by pass or trick the cdi, will let you guys know how i get on

its as simple as a 100 ohm resistor between the brown and pink iirc
