I went for a ride out today with a few mates as we managed to finally get a nice sunday.
Did the routine check over on my bike...oil level, water level..tyre pressure etc.

Bike seemed fine when we set off...(bare in mind i did about 150-200 mile), but as i was heading home, i noticed quite a loud tapping noise coming from my bike. It was doing it constantly, through all gears and at different speeds..i havent a clue wat it was but its left me a litle concerned.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

worn follower/tappet ?

Is that a big job to sort?...

My mate reckons it my cams like?..or cam chain .

if its like it through all the gears i doubt its your cam chain, if it is then change it now, don't ride it any further, more than likely your valve clearances need sorting.

Valve clearances being the shims?...me mate is currently working on it now, as im clueless on how to fix major jobs.
He mentioned something about shims...?
He's pulled the top end off and is sorting sumet out wher the cams n valves are? god knows lol...jus hope the damn tapping stops..

Sounded REALLY nasty today wen i rode it down to his house.
Should be sorted soon though!

Me mates rang me earlier on today n told me it wasnt the valve clearances or out..
He now reckons it cud be piston problems...

He's a dab hand with bikes so im just gunna leave him to it..
Shud hopefuli be back on the road soon...im itching for another gooooooood ride out before winter weather kicks in.

Anyone ever ride to devils bridge?..
Thats my regular stop off point before our rides.
