Yes another set of downpipes have blown a hole in themself :smt013
Don't really want to buy used again because i know i will have this problem again in a a couple of months time, so have been looking at these stainless knock offs.
What do you think of these?

I'm just a bit cautious of the quality and fitting.

look good and tempted to get a set for my gixer at them prices but only a 2 year warranty? i would pay the extra 50-60 quid and get some micron.

Im never gonna settle with OEM exhausts, especially on older bikes, they just dont last! Ive heard the quality of those ebay ones are a bit iffy, as baz said go for a name and get the guarantee they will last!

Might be a bit pricey for you at 370 quid but that does include the end can, maybe worth a call to see if they can do you a price for the downpipes only?

Nah didn't in the end, couldn't afford to.
Can't really justify £435 on an exhaust atm

I bought the stainless system for my GS400 from them. Frankly I wouldn't go near them again. Relatively well put together but piss awful attempt at routing the pipes leaving no ground clearance. This system was one of the main things that kicked off the GS project because it needs modifying so I can go round right handers.

That said, I expect the system for the ZXR is probably ok, because if the routing was that bad you wouldn't be able to get the fairing back on. Unfortunately on the GS I'd fitted it and ridden it a fair way before it became apparent how bad it was.

Got some new used ones and they've already gone to exhaust hell. This time it is where the can joins, had rusted inside so wouldn't know it when looked at, so they are now detached, with only the strap around the can holding the can on the bike.

When it comes to stuff like that, buying used will only prolong what is inevitable. The stock headers are toad and will rust and corrode to f***. There are some microns on ebay now, and also a beet system.

just keep scouring ebay and the forums . stuff comes up from time to time .. ive just scored a full micron system for £155 and the beet system is awesome.. but bear in mind that you can get them direct from beet for a lot less than what jap4performance ask for them (600 quid-ish) so dont go bidding silly money thinking its worth a grand.

for a road bike the beet system may not be the best, the midrange certainly suffers a bit compared to a bike fitted with a micron.

you could just hack off the link pipe from the back of the collector and get a replacement link pipe welded on that will accept a standard slipon can.. thats whats been done on my H and it works far batter than a stock system
