Hi, just bought my zxr 400 yesterday, unfortunatly not only does it have a bad paint job (that can wait) but it also has yellow seats..... clearly need some black vinyl to re-cover them, any1 done this before? If so any hints/ideas where the best place to buy is? Btw am in love with the bike, especially the Micron exhaust set

Glad to hear you got one, where did you get it from?
Check out google for companies that cover seats, there must be loads about.

There is a shop called hobby craft just down the road from me they sell fake leather vinyl similar to seat cover but i think its a bit thinner its only a couple of quid for a metre square though, so if was'nt to hard wearing you could recover the seats a couple of times over the summer for a couple of squids! I dont know how it would cope if you wear leathers, but im pretty sure it would be ok if you just wear jeans. You could even back it with resin or a heavy glue, wait for it to dry and it might help with the strength.

Yeah, think ill go for the cheaper option, i had those seats in my ebay already Gem, but thanks for the help

Am currently a bit short of cash after buying the bike, just need to raise enough for the insurance next, am currently doing stuff to the bike thats either free or cheap. Bought it for £750 from a guy in kent - westkingsdown.

Went into a buc/coach refurb shop/business today to see if they had any material i could buy/have/steal. Anyway the office just showed me straight through to their fabric guy whos a cool old guy who sits in a corner hidden behind shelves of material, anyway i'm taking the seats in tomorrow for him to have a lookat. Hopefully he'll even put the new material on for me, should be quite cheap too. Will update tomorrow, also will take a pic of the old yellow seats tonight/tomorrow morning and then the new ones when i have them done.
