ZXR Rectifier Connector Block

I used to post here when I had my own ZXR, but now it's my o/h's ZXR that's giving me some grief.

A few months ago I replaced the rectifier on the ZXR. When I stripped the rectifier off, I found that the connector block looked like this:

I plugged the new rectifier in, and it appeared to be working i.e. bike was charging when running.

This worked for a while, but I suspect that the contacts in the block are iffy, and so has failed again. Can anyone either supply me with one of these connector blocks, or tell me where I can order an original/pattern from. I rang the local Kwak agent, but he told me I need to order the whole loom (yeah right), but he has been known to be wrong on things before :smt014

Help would be appreciated please ... :smt011

I think for once your dealer might be right, if you check the microfiches on the main site you'll see they only supply a whole loom and not individual parts of it.

It looks lke corrosion you got there, have you tried using some contact cleaner on the connector? If you leave it un-treated it will only get worse, i think you can release the connector from the block by slotting a very small flat-bladed screwdriver down the back of it, you may also have to release the others too unless theres a bit of slack between the connector and the loom sheath so write down where they go before you dissasemble.

You could potentiall make your own connector with connector blocks from Maplins but they may not be sealed properly.
