carb heaters

can anyone tell me if these carbs (in the pic) are the heated variety

yeah thats right, theres a pipe which routes from the left hand side of the radiator and down underneath the genny cover. Around there, there should be a take off for a pipe which routes upto that brown bottle type thing :)

no idea Baz, i assume it could either be a filter or just a way of telling to see if the system is full as it goes the colour of the coolant you put in.

nope mine was hard plastic, nout you could do with it. My CRM heater dosent have one tho

scrap what i said it goes round the other way! The big pipe round the genny cover has a smaller one that routes upto the other side of the carbs, then then a pipe comes off from the bottle type thingy which then plugs into the back of the engine underneath one of the inlets. This picture shows it nicely, underneath inlet number 1 with the pin for the thermostat or whatever it is just in front of it :smt001

the plastic cylinder houses a filter. You should always open this up and take the filter out and give it a good clean when changing the coolant.

The colour of the cylinder will depend upon what colour your coolant is :smt003
