Hi. My second post now. The zxr is my first bike so still learning (fast) but am a tad confused with the gearbox oil. I was under the understanding that the gearbox uses the same oil as the engine but having read a few topics am not so sure now. I've had the bike on the road for a week and it seems to be fine but want to check this gearbox oil situation as i dont want to f**k my pride and joy up.
Can someone please tell me if you are supposed to put some special gear box oil in. It's currently running silkoline 10 40 high performance semi synthetic bike oil.
Thanks guys

Hey there welcome to the forum
the gearbox and engine share the same oil, what you have in there already sounds fine. You can check the oil level looking at the little window on the clutch case cover on the right hand side.

Anyway. Thanks and enjoy the slightly better weather we seem to be getting atm

as rob says, it's perfectly fine. they use the same oil.
It is part of the reason why bike oil is different to car oil (the other being that bike clutches run in the oil, car clutches don't).

also one of the reason why you need to be changing the oil every 3,000 miles odd as its taking a hell of a bashing
