Hi, i think my bike is running too rich and thats why it now wont start and will only backfire. I only put new plugs in it a few days ago and now it wont start. From a previous thread i've found it should be from 1 1/4 to 2 turns, is this from turning the screw fully in and then 1 1/4 turns out. Also where is this screw and is there only 1. If youz could show me a pic I would grately appreciate it.

Also the bike is a L3 model, with a full micron exhaust, i dont know if this affects the amount the pilot screw adjustment. Cheers Ross

i can tell ya, but iv jus put mine back so cant get a pic of mine, erm dunno how to add pics actually. anyway mines an L3 aswell, ur almost right, service manual says 1 1/2 turns, so ye all the way in and 540 degrees out, there is only one fuel screw on each carb so u must do all four evenly, u can get to them without taking the carbs off, but for accuracy u may aswell.

if you turn them upside down, look out for overflowin petrol and dont light up. you will be looking at the carb bowls you will see a hole tubey thing with a brass screw in there, thats the fuel screw. as for the exhaust i dunno how this really affects mixture, iv bin told its runs leaner and should be dyno'd but i dunno, i just listen for a crisp putt putt sound, not a flat thud, then u got a good mixture, and if it starts at all temps.
