Well I had my eye and had bidded on these

but I have managed to repair the old rearset, I will post up a pic of what I've done. So I've decided to save a little longer and go for the beefier looking ACU approved rearsets.

With the bike ridable again I can buy them at a later date.

cant view it as I'm not a member. Skint now until I sell the rs anyway, and paint work is top priority.
Thanks Though

Hey sloweracing, do rearsets cause the bike to flip when you crash? I have some on my ZX7R but thinking of putting the standard ones on that flip up. Whats the point of having them so they dont flip up?

not sure of the reason myself, but have been the victim of a properly squashed foot a few times when ive come off due to fold up pegs.

I'm considering them for my gixxer as they provide an additional point of contact when the bike goes down protecting plastics etc

i've decked out a peg quite hard avoiding some corner cutting muppet. think if the peg didn't fold i'd probably have jacked the wheels off the floor.

but with rear sets youd have the extra ground clearance. Think you would have to be pretty fucking brave to ground pegs that are 2 and a half inches higher!

going to have to get some now, just put the bike into the gate again, wooden gate = no damage
3 x cast alloy webs = snapped to F**k, I think the quality of them is terrible, should be banned, imagine standing up on the bike while in motion to lower your C of G, perhaps when you hit gravel and the footrest spits its dummy and off you go into the car coming the opposite direction.
Now then which do I spend my hard earned on?
acu approved billets on ebay?

Well ses racing footrest are not cheap but i have never had a problem with them snapping or replacing just parts so i would recommend them for a zxr 400 as my above post
Never had a problem with them crashing just seem to slide along on the footpeg and bend up slighlty so needeing a new bolt and foot peg most times but never been a problem

they're very different, what you think?
Looks like It would be a case of making a rod for my own back to try and fit them though
