Airbox issues

Hi There,
Have recently got a ZXR400J1 whilst having the head gasket replaced the mechanic advised me that the rubbers inside the airbox are seriously mishaped and need replacing.
Not being too technically minded I've looked on the online manual and can't see any rubbers inside? Any ideas what he might be referring too? (it's def not the rubbers that fit the airbox to the carbs).
Any help most appreciated.
