There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

ZXR400 start button

Post by gilly1 »

I have an zxr400 race bike (L model) it does not have an ignition if it makes a difference. I fitted a quick action throttle and got an NC30 start button. The NC30 button has five wires and the zxr has three.....can anyone advise me on how to wire this up please.

Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew

If you use a multi meter to work out which wires are connected to which buttons, you can then work out which function buttons you want to use. Then mate these up with the wires you need from the loom.

Mine too runs no ignition key and the headlight switch, ZXR switch gear, is now ignition.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi mate

Just wired one up with an NC30 switch. You'll need 3 of the wires. The black and white, red and yellow and black with 2 white spots on. Cant remember which ones go to which but can let you know after Saturday when Ive been over to the workshop to work on the bike.

If your looking for just a start/kill switch try a NSR250 one.

Forgot to write it down when I was over there, darn! But then, I use a race loom so the colours wouldnt be correct anyway. Ive said wheich ones yu need from the switch so I would just turn the switch on and hook up a couple until you get the neutral light come on, check the start button does not turn it off, then hook up the last wires. Trial and error, thats my method.

I'll look again when I go over at the weekend. The colours will be different but I can tell you whther its permanent live or switched live etc
