110 to 120 miles before reserve mostly ..

although 73 miles to completely empty once .. but that was with luggage and a massive rucksack, and the only point where the throttle wasnt pinned was when i went for reserve (M6 @ night on a trip to scotland)

ZXR 400 L4, no fueling/airflow mods, sensible riding, with the odd 120mph thrash here and there :D

i leave the fuel gauge on reserve, cant be arsed flicking it from normal to reserve all the time.

Doing my daily commute i get ~43mpg, i fill up once it hits 100 miles.
Going back up and down the motorway i get ~57mpg, i fill it up once it hits 140-150 miles to be on the safe side.

So for a full 16L tank i would get 150 miles before running out doing my commute, and i would get 200 miles going up and down the motorways, again until ive run it dry.

EDIT: commuting this week gave me 113 miles to 10.8L petrol RON 95, so thats 47mpg...not too bad

Most I've got just to see how far I could go from fully brimmed (sat on bike) to reserve is exactly 123 miles, but I use almost purely for fun and I don't need to commute to school/work. Usually fill up around the 100-110 mile mark. 33bhp bike btw.

:smt108 Are you mad? So you can turn yourself into a fireball if you have a minor off and the bottle ruptures? Or someone runs into the back of you :smt002

There's a reason why petrol tanks have to meet certain standards of robustness. It's also illegal to store petrol in other than certain authorised containers so when you do turn yourself into a human candle expect plod to come to see you in intensive care (and the insurance refuse to pay out).

Not a good idea. Does your reserve tap not work? :smt102
