Re: ram air
bdk (norwich) do a nice carbon fibre one, but not something i've tried.
EDIT; looks like an L model, but they do seem to do alot of custom stuff.

I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).

Re: ram air
Is it specific for a H Gavin ?
Have only ever seen ones for the L and you do need to mod them to fit on a H.
MM!

Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

Re: ram air
they are a pain to make fit. The problem is the frame spars on the h sit higher than the L, so you have to cut the edges off top and bottom then gaffer tape them up, they never fit nice.
I used to get my h ones made by dynopro racing in runcorn, im not sure if he still has the moulds or not, but he would be my first call.
failing that brian at ams may have some old stock, dont think he does as much zxr stuff now, more minitwins
failing that, get swapped over to the L, it does make life easier if your in f400, unless you a fe chap

Re: ram air
your right,
but iv owned his bike for nearly 12 years, when I was a teenager I terorized my home town on a daily basis with this bike,iv gotten tank slappers so bad on it on irish roads ,Icant even explain how close iv come,This bike nearly killed be about 12 times.I just couldnt turn around now and sart riding an l.
Iv spent 4500 euro on zx10 bits ,wheels carbon bits etc....
I just need to find the proper air box,
the rest of the stuff i need is standard eneough, chain sprockets, master cly, fuel cell etc..
Iv even gotten H model samco hoses,H model carbon tank, theres no turnin bak now

Shorter wheelbase, quicker turn in - haven't even come close to having a tank slapper though !

Re: ram air
I was after owning an aprilla rs 125 ,I also had a speed triple,
They were fine bikes but felt like somehing was missing,
when I got the zxr I thought it just doesnt get any better than this, just the whole package, new roundabouts were some crack!
I remember like it was yesterday ,the handeling and the way it turned in was something else.

Re: ram air
I love the H, i had a great time racing it. Ive still got a few that i will eventually put back together to race.
But when i get back to racing f400, which i will as soon as i can, it will be on an L.
Soz, big the H up all day long, its a great roadbike, its a brilliant trackday bike..... it may even be a great real roadracing bike where its stability and 'long' feel to it may be to its advantage, but short circuit racing.. L
zxr500man, ive given you the best option for you dude, have you called him? Ive a feeling you dont race tho? if its a road bike and you like it, dont get a ramair box
