Hi been looking for a right hand clipon and bar for a zxr400 l with not much luck loads of left hand on ebay
any body know if the left bar is compatibale with the right clip on ? with me just putting a locating pin for the throttle assembley?
cheers lee
Take a dressmaking tape measure (ask your mum / missus) and measure round the fork below the clip-on. Failing that use a bit of string and then measure it with a ruler. That's your circumference. You can work out the diameter from that with the maths you learned at school or Google for the formula if you never paid attention in class. I can't remember it offhand.
Ebay ain't the only place for spares. Try some breakers. Baz has a big list on here somewhere of breakers' phone numbers. There'll be loads out there. Most breakers can't be arsed to list everying on Ebay. Just ring 'em.
ZXR400 L4, purple / black / pink
Hel braided hoses
Pirelli Diablos
Ohlins steering damper
A16 carbon fibre exhaust can
Nitron Sport shock
Yeah thanks for that. Ebay has not been to good at the moment for parts.
I bought a right hand bar but it was scrap been helicoiled in the end and was about a inch to short
Am thinking about buying some new clipons now at least there be in good condition, but i will try the local breaker yards tommorrow.
Tried the local breakers for some clip ons but no luck there so i treated my self to some renthal clip ons and grips

also found out the clip on size is 50mm fitted a treat just drilled the bars for the locating pins for the swich gear and the throttle
really like the quality of the renthal gear as i run it on my downhill mtb

I imagine that the shortage of right bars is because most uk tracks (and all roundabouts) are clockwise, hence lots of right handers, so I imagine lots of right side scrapes etc.
another option is SES racing in norfolk, they do quite a few ally bits for the zxr (front subframes and screen brace) and rear sets & clip ons. They do some nice steel tube clip ons for about £40 the pair, ally £50. Cheap and chearful, but on the upside they're cheap and cheerful! Seem to work fine on my gpz. they of course do posh ally ones too.
I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).
