Hi
Ive been looking at changing my standard headlight bulbs to Xenons.
If I replace the 12v 60/35 with 12v 60/55w will the capacity be too much as the wattage is higher?
If yes, Ive seen there is a 12v 35/35w .... not sure if this will work though :S?
Cheersss

I think I'm right in saying though that the 60/55W bulbs don't fit. You have to cut off the tabs and fiddle about with them, don't you? Not a serious problem but one you need to be aware of.

Ok Thanks, Will probably go with the 60/55w ones then

Yeah Ive read about the necessary adaptions that need to be made - theres a good document under 'workshop' on the main page.
cheers guys.

Out of curiosity what does the 60/55w mean - is this just the max output?
and would 35/35w work?

Iirc its the brightness of each high and low beam filament. Im not sure which way tound but logic tells me the larger number is main beam.

that sounds right. when you say xenon do you mean REAL xenon bulbs ie HID bulbs that use ballast and all. Theyre posh and expensive (£130 for a twin bulb kit) but mine running just one bulb is better than two normal h4 bulbs by a long way. Try looking at my article in the electrical section (i think).
And if you want to save a few watts, get a pair of led rear/brake bulbs from bike it. They don't require any wiring alterations like led indicators do, and they save 10w normally, and 40w saving under braking. That why your main beams dim a little when you brake - your two brake bulbs run at 21w each! they're 21/5w, the led ones are <1w. think they're only a few quid. take 2 mins to fit. did mine a few days ago, work wonderfully.

go to page 150-151, item number LEDBLB01 (red - the white ones make you look pink!)
