ZXR Seat issues

Hi Guys,
I've got a few problems.
1. I've seen CBR 600 seat tail on to ZXRs and was told recently the ZX6R seat tails fit as well with some modification. Does anyone know what type of odding you have to do? Is it just a matter of cutting the sub frame short?
2. My ZXR has pillion seat and the cowl had 3 alloy strips bent into a hook shape that hooked under the actual seat. Alas, 2 of these strips have broken off (they seem to be made of a bendy alloy). I was going to just find some aluminum strips and stick new ones on, but i seen on eBay a new seat cowl, but it had a fixing kit with it. This got me thinking... was my seat cowl a DIY job fixing kit? It looks as if the old strips were stuck on by something that ressembles wrigleys chewing gum. How do your seat cowls stay on?
