On the SP model there is a solinoid, does anyone know exactly what this thing does.

no not the tps, there is a solinoid connected to the main fuel rail that is mounted in front of the battery. was wondering on its effect, is it some sort of enrichment jet & TPS related or something else.

Yep that's it..................big jet in the inlet fires a squirt of fuel in when the throttle is opened and yes it is related to throttle position and speed of opening..there is a little pump on the side that is part of it too.
Haven't a clue as to exactly how it works or why for that matter.........................Allens performane are the flatside experts in my world

Thats the accelerator pump, located on the right hand side of the right hand fuel bowl 
not related to tps but throttle opening speed. You can see the linkage on the right hand side of the carbs.
Still no takers, have it currently blocked off but was wondering if it can be used fix some bumps in the wot fuel curve?

I think it is the same system than on the 750 (I mean the 750RR with FCR)
On the 750 there is a switch on the throttle (not a TPS because it gives only 1 position) and a solenoid on the accel-pump feed tube, both connected to the ignition module.
My informations are that the ignition module cuts the accel-pump feeding in certain conditions related to engine speed and load (on the 750 I think it is 5000rpm / high load), it may be a solution to a problem of poor volumetric efficiency at this exact engine point, where if engine sucks less air then the accel pump may overfuel the mixture... All the RR versions of the 750 has this stuff installed to their FCR (1991 "K", 1993 "M" and 1996 "N")

Hi mick, you are right with your assumption, it alters the fuel curve to smooth it out, it pumps fuel through the accelerator pump jets at varying rpm/tps positions when used with an SP igniter.
I have some dyno charts somewhere showing back to back runs connected and not connected. The afr curve looks like a fuel injected one when connected, very smooth. Doesnt add much power but does smooth the delivery a lot!
