fuel leak?
ok so in a effort to get my bike to start , having read some other posts on the problem decided that a full tank of fuel wont hurt the situation , so filled it up from a jerry can with around 5 litres so some of the fuel splashed over the tank and around the rubber neck in the filler cap , next thing i know ive got a stream of petrol pouring out from under the bike around where the rear shock is :S but its holding a full tank nearly so what gives guys?

Re: fuel leak?
There is a little drain in the filler cap well that allows spilt fuel and water to drain away

Re: fuel leak?
ah ok then thanks , no leaks in the pipes etc phew , next question would the petrol on the tank have caused the paint to bubble within a minute or so? or i am just being paranoid and now noticing the little bubbles thinking i caused them?

Re: fuel leak?
I'd very very surprised that petrol would cause paint to bubble so quickly.................unless of course its new paint ? or some kind of non standard paint ?
Even then two pack withstands petrol quite well
Dont tell me its painted with Wickes emulsion

Re: fuel leak?
Dulux actually!
ah ok then , its standard paint and i soaked the fuel up and flushed it with water straight away so maybe they were always there im just looking for things thinking ive broken it or damaged it.
Thanks for the reply , now back to trying to get it to start again
