Ive just completed my first trackday on my 400 at Mallory park on the 27/03/10 and what a day it was the weather was great, it wasnt my first ever track day but first at Mallory and 'Gerrards' what a corner its epic if anyones ridden it before youll know what i mean i exited the bend at 105mph and managed a 65 second lap which im chuffed with. Blitz quite a few bigger bikes than my own 600's and 1000's due to the shere cornering capability of the zxr even saw another zxr400 running so didnt feel out of place, a yellow one running in the inters group.
Here are a few pics of my tyres etc and wear incured during the day, I'll get some pics of the day up when i receive them.

My tyres were Metzeler sportech m3's which i ran at 31psi rear and 28psi front.

Front tyre really close to the edge.

Rear nicely balled up.

Right knee slider scraped thanks to Gerrards.

My right foot peg was decking out alot so i took the scraper bolt thingy out and then decked it out further, got quite low :excited

Thanks for reading and like i said ill try to get some pics of the day up and if anyones got any pics of them at mallory post them up.

I'll be doing Mallory at some point this year... it might even be this Friday if the weather looks ok!

How did you find the hairpin? I'm a bit worried about people cannoning into teh side of me there...

Oh, and did they have that stupid chicane right at the end of Gerrards? (I'm guessing not if you say you enjoyed it! :smt003 )

No the chicane wasnt there and the hairpin is like a ploughed field, its really rough but just brake hard for it in to first gear and then drive out hard its quite a good corner actually but the bus stop is a difficult one to master. youll have to let me know how you get on and the lap time you do as im unsure what a good time is to be honest.

For the race results from EMRA's first round at mallory.
Leon jeacock set the lap record on his old zxr at 56 secs.
1 min 5 is a good start especially for your first trackday though, I'll be out on the 17th of April if you fancy another go.
