right, idiot question time, feel free to say NO!!!! YOU'LL DIE!!!

i have been given (honest) some bridgestone slicks to use on a trackday, lol, they seem fresh, no blueing or cutting up, guy says he only did a few laps on them then promptly sold the bike. they are (i think) 12/60 and 165/62 (that sound right?) either way, they are off a 250 and he reckons they'll fit my ZXR fine...

so, what pressures and will they/can they/how long will they take to warm up without tyre warmers?
i am quite aware to not go out in the rain/damp with them on!
is there any point to using them? i currently got Bridgestone 014's on the bike. i'd like to think i get a move on, i can scrape a knee here and there, but i'm no McGuiness!

i've never tried slicks, wanna see what all the fuss is about!
and i can't afford the latest supercorsa/003/pilot power/etc...

You wont get them into their operating temp range unless you are on a track. 3 quickish laps without warmers and you should be safe.

Sizes are spot on!

Normally they run at a lower pressure and race tyres are usually better during there first 3 heat cylces.

I've run on slicks, inters, wets and road tyres. The slicks didn't offer me much more confidence to be honest. Its all in your head going fast. If you think the slicks offer more grip you find it and might go quicker.

The optimimum rim size for the 165 rear is a 5.25-5.5 rim. I've run the Bridgestone slicks on my TZ/TZR & it has a 5.25 rear & the 165 fits perfectly. If your running the stock 4.5 it might be a little big for that size rim. They are awesome tires though.............
