Ram air box.

Hi, recently purchased a race bike with a rmkd ram air box, i opened the box to find that the carbs do not have any bellmouths, should there be bellmouths on them and if so what are the best sort to get hold of?

How air tight must the box be to get the best out of it, i would presume as tight as possible? (maybe just answered my own question) worth asking though to be mind sure.

what does it run like?
i would of thought you would need some sort of bellmouth flow into the carbs, i like and have got good power with the dynoproracing plate type.

on my airbox, i use a roll of tacky tape. Not sure what it is meant for, i got it off greville ballsout..
anyhow i put it on both sides of the airbox, and it seals any gap very well, and comes apart easy enough when needed. good stuff.
he might remember where he got it from?

It came with the airbox, which was an AMS copy of the kit box, so I don't know what it was I'm afraid. But, I have used ordinary draft exluder before, the spongy stuff, sticky on one side, available from most DIY stores. It sels nicely when compressed.

I did run a bike without bellmouths once and it seemed to work fine, but obviously better with them.
