Just a quick question...had a guy round last night that bought my race van but we started talking about my bike and fact that sometimes it doesnt like to start which can cause problem in the paddock! he recomended that i go up by 1 in the grade of spark plug that the book recomends...anybody else tried this and has it caused any problems? its a 92 L Model.
Cheers, Dan

There is the common hot starting problem that the ZXR's have. There is a thread somewhere where people have posted thier bike specs including plugs, maybe worth a try for someone who has that problem.

The main reason to go to a CR10EK from a CR9EK is that the ten runs cooler.
It can be a solution if your engine is high compression and is near pinking / per detonation, or if your engine is set up for 102 octane on 9's but you didn't drive past a petrol station selling 102, and you had to run it on 98 octane ( that would be me then!) lol
Plug grade a much bigger issue on 2 strokes, as they are run very near detonation, hence why they run det counters, although mixture AND plug are both important/ critical for the two strokes.
Not really sure how the 10 would help hot starting though - The expert would be Roger Middleton in all things engine related.....
