im suprised you stil managed to ride it home if it had 'dropped' a valve.are you sure its definatly not there?if it has 'dropped' a valve into the cylinder there can be all sorts of damage .....piston, bore and even head damage.could be time for a new engine.take the head off and have a look so you no where you stand.
be good to see some pictures if you can as well.

no i didn"t ride it to home, i call the assistance :) (they love me after several engine failure with 250 RGV....)

so i have open the engine, i can said god exist:

the piston is lightly marked
the valve is broken under the upper dash clip nd the guide is broken and have limited the stroke of the valve, so it only move a bit more than usualy...

so, i must replace the valve, and the guide....

it's expensive to replace a guide ??

glad your getting it sorted Laurent, quite unusual for a valve to go.
