hey f*** you buddy! I think there's only one way we can solve this... I'll race you! lol
Of course the danger is the fun part! That's why we own sportsbikes!? It's this macho "f*** it, I don't care if I die." bullshit that makes me laugh. :wanker You will fucking care if you crash because you won't be riding again for a long time. And what will it all have been for? Your ego.
That said, now it's come to light that it's a 748, you won't have to push nearly as hard to win (916 was just stupid). A ZX6r will not lose to a 748 unless you're the toad rider!

you can win easy, either bike.
Make sure you start on the right of him, but prettyclose. When getting ready to go, lean over and hit his kill switch.
Or push his brake lever.
Either way, I think the ZXR should be able to cope. If only foryur knowledge thay if he crashes, it'll cost him a hell of a lot more than if you crash yours.

hmm yeah i suppose it sould be alright, getting the ZXR serviced this week so should be ready. either way i doubt anything will happen this time of the year. seen some guy almost lose it on an SRAD earlier. leaves on wet roads dont mix well... but yeah i might be selling the ZXR to get a ZX6R... but apparantly theyre gutless.. but yeah if any of us crash then its our fault lol... how many people here are paying over £500 for their insurance. tpft..... tbh though i dont think i'd crash i got pretty good reactions and know the road really well..

downside of being 18. Still it's cheaper in my name than being a named driver on a 1.4 rover!! lol.
I know which i'd rather drive

I really want a ZX6r too. The new ones are meant to be lacking but the older 636 C1H is meant to be the pinnalce of kawasaki 600's.
I'm gonna miss my ZXR tho. They are good bikes for the road. Don't do silly speeds, and handle pretty well so long as the surface is smooth. But I found myself, like you, trying to prove rider ability over cc. I'm hoping a larger cc will calm me dowm... probably not going by most of the larger cc owners on this forum!
The only reason I'm so negative against your "race" is that I came off on a road I know very well. I used to hoon down it because it's always quiet and has some awesome corners. 'Lucky' for me I took it easy that day else I'd probably be a lot worse off. I hit something in the road that I didn't see and the bike just sailed off into the trees.
Made me think back to all the times I fucking hacked it on the road and how lucky I've been that I never hit anything then. I always assumed my reactions would save me.
I mean I've run wide, hit gravel, spun in wet and even dodged tree branches and always handled it well. But I didn't see this and I had no control. I couldn't do anything it was so fast. The bike felt like it had hit a curb and it just spat me off instantly.
That said, I wonder if because I wasn't hacking it, I wasn't in the 'zone', so wasn't paying enough attention. Maybe hacking it, although increasing your chances of serious injury, decreases your chances of making a mistake?
Either way, I'd rather take it easy on the road now and spend money on trackdays. They are a world apart from road riding.
ACU license I think...
(sorry about the long, opinionated post! lol)

Having gone from the 636 C1H to my current 600 P7F ninja, (from a ZXR400 a few of years ago, the 600 is much more fun, revving so much higher and turns quicker too. Much smoother wheelies on the power. If torquey bikes are what you like, you might as well look at a V-twin.
I just prefer bikes that you got to rev hard to get anything out of it. Hence my CRM250 as a winter hack.
My insurance: 2007 ZX6R 6 years no claims, age 28, (lady) 2 non-fault acidents in last 3 years, 3 points in last 2 years £245 fully comp, £350 excess. Owned the bike since May 2007, no alarm, parked on street overnight. (not really, but it covers it for being locked away.)
I had my ZXR400 from age 21 to 25, then the 636 was so much cheaper to insure, then a brand new 600 after that.
I wouldn't pay more than £300 to insure anything. It's leagalised robbery. Especially when they put massive excesses on policies, and lots of stupid clauses - like garages - must be brick construction with a retina scan entry system, then don't pay out for a year when someone hits you from behind.

if your on the ZX6r and he has a 748 you'll pull his pants down in a strate line so would be easy race.
I showed up a few on my 400, without the extra power of the 916 they cant pull away as easly, it comes more down to whos willing to brake later and cournor faster

Dude keep your £100 and if he gives you grief tell him its easy to pick on someone half a foot smaller and 110 bhp down toad i'd have raced you on a 916 for free if i had one, then made you buy the beers after if you beat me, or you could do what young fellas seem to do do when they're pissed and feeling disrespected, stab him, go to jail and ride nothing but prison dick for 10-15 years, the worst kind of heros are pissed one's.Thats my 10p!
