Although you get credit for it at bath uni?
yeah. it's run as an option for 3rd year group design + business project. plus most people then go on to do a final year individual project based on it. as well as building the car in their spare time. so potentially 40% of your degree score.
nice one. I dont get involved in design, was never any good at it. My job title is Product Engineer; I do tailoring work on large diesel engines; 38 - 78litres, which quite probably gives away who I work for
oxfordshire throws me a bit. but i'd guess cummins?

I've not heard that one before

I like it!

it kinda makes it worth while doing a good job of it

Well, I work in Northamptonshire just to confuse matters

But you got it in one!

The extent of my Daventry knowledge is work, suzuki dealer, tescos and finally the school I help run an Imagineering club at.
There's a reason I dont live anywhere near Daventry

It's Bikersworld in Browns Lane (I think!) Just round the corner from where I am, next to long bukby motors (I think thats what its called) It hasnt been there *that* long.

I usually head south, being as most of my biking friends live south of me

the A361 from Banbury to Dav isnt too bad, even if it is a little boring after doing twice a day for the last 3.5 years or so!
I can string together quite a nice route to Dav when I can be bothered, but at 6:45am I am usually most concerned with getting in as quickly as poss

i used to race there as well when i had the moeny to run the kart, the larger track (national) is really good, the smaller corp track is okish...
best events were the argo cats 6 wheel's amfibius things awsome fun they were! and the rage buggy's were grate fun to!
shame they ditched the quod bikes a month after i started, only ever go trained on running the event never attualy did one, silly student types kept hurting them selfs so runined it
really enjoyed the job but had to move to bigger and more boring things
cheers caz mates have told me about Bikersworld and there's ment to be quite a good meet on there some days? have to give that abash

I honestly think you should just get the RS125 an gain a couple of years road exp first mainly cos its light so your confidence will grow faster an also it will be much easyer to pull it out the way of arsehole drivers that will cut you up because as caz said its not the power you have to worry about cos im sure you will handle the power with the motor cross exp its other drivers on the road you wont believe how much you will learn in just 2 years. i started on the 400 in feb un restricted but iv been drivin a car for 5 years an iv had afew near misses.
other thing is dont give yourself the chance to de restrict if you get a 125 its already full power where as you may be tempted to restrict the 4 after afew months. at the end of the day if you hit a lampost at 30 theres a good chance you will live hit it at 60 and you'll probly die.
there is a reason for this 2 year restriction i think they should do the same with cars as well to be fair.

i still dont no how lower cc means you less likely to have a crash??
the RS is around about 28bhp unrestricted (even if they say its 33 i dont belive it). They are slower than a restricted 400 but not by a million miles. Plus you've got all the agro of it blowing up ever 6,000 miles, needing new pistion rings, gearbox going ect ect ect
you'll be fine with a 400, if people can pass at 21 and buy a R1 and not get killed i think you can mange a 400

only goes as fast as you twist the throttle.
and i'd guess it's a lot easier to ride around gently on a 400 than a 125 stroker. i mean the 400's are relatively peaky compared to bigger 4 strokes, but they've still got something at lower revs.

You know, i started writing a lengthy reply to this thread - but I really cant be bothered.
At the end of the day, people can only offer their advice and opinions. The law is there to protect inexperienced road users and on this occasion I happen to agree with it.
Even though i did my DAS, i was absolutley amazed that after I passed I could, legally, ride my friends hayabusa (I didnt). The bike test in this country is far too easy imo.
At the end of the day, the decision is yours, you'll have fun on whatever you decide on. I have a real laugh riding our 180 scooter. Anyone can go fast in a straight line, its how you go round corners that gives me the grin.

you might wana retract that statement lol.
agreed with the re build an that but the 125 will handle much better for corners not sure about the brakes but its lighter so i might say it stopps easyer but thats probly wrong... and from everyone whos had one they say they are awsome.
but again you dont wana be a statistic.
