Hi,

I'm well chuffed! Just bought some 6 pot calipers off ebay for 150 notes! GSXR1000 gold Tokicos! :smt003

Now... I could make some spacers for them as my old man has a metal lathe, or I could just tap em out to a bigger thread.

Has anyone tapped these calipers out yet? and is it easily done?

Regards

Rich

Hi

I would buy a brembo M/C but the prices are really high! I was thinking of just getting a 7r M/C off egay or something. My old man bought me a 16mm alu rod to make the spacers up but he hasn't got round to shaping them yet, so I went out and bought myself a 1M alu tube for £2 from B&Q. The tube is 10mm with a inner 8mm diameter. Perfect for a quick fix. Slap a 16mm M8 washer on it with 4 M8x30 button head bolts and away you go!

I've ordered the bolts just gotta wait for them to arrive now, can't wait! :excited

If anyone is interested, I could post a quick step by step on this cheap mod when i've got my calipers all fixed up and working?

Regards

Rich

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure on this, but i'm pretty sure that SV1000 front calipers WILL also fit the ZXR400 H and L with only minor mods. Yet again, more spacers need to be made up, or you could do what I did and bought some 10mm alu tubing from B&Q with a 8mm inner diameter and cut 4 bits down to 19mm lengths. Then simply slap a 16mm M8 washer on top.

Regards

Rich

Has anyone had any experence with these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Front-Brake-Maste ... m153.l1262

the listing says

'THIS GOODS IS REMARKETING PRODUCTS, SO ITS MAY COME WITH MARKS AND SRCATCHED'

I know they have the brembo logo on but that dont really mean anything at the end of the day its a 19mm master cylender so its the right size just wondered if there worth the money?

This thread is for "Upgrades" :smt005

I like how it will work an extra 3 months with positive feedback :pmsl

So it's not Brembo, it's not billet and it will more than likely have the cheapest seals on the planet installed and you want to trust your life on it :smt018

How do you get a repair kit for it? If the Taiwanese alloy that I have encountered is anything to go by it will actually be a grade above bitter chocolate!

Definite - Buyer beware !!!

Fitting onto a Monkey, Ape or other 50cc bike - fine

Well i know they wouldnt be the best or even nearly the best bit of kit you could get thats why i asked if anyone had experence with them,
how do you know the 13 or 14 year old seals in the standered m/c arnt going to fail on you or your going to have a blow out at 100+ there must be some kind of standerds they have to make them to?

Someone asked about these on another forum yonks ago, they are simply cheap copies. I think the general concesus at the time was to steer clear of em.

Personally i wouldnt risk it, save the money and rebuild your standard master cylinder that has 14/15 year old seal in them. Its not expensive for a rebuild kit.

They look like 40mm spacing (common brembo size) if not then 55mm - you'll need adapter plates for them.

If its 62mm. It will fit. The problems lie with the bolt holes and spacing.
