Meh - I made the mistake of giving her my word and stuff...

I've thought about the black strip thing, and it's my plan to ask her - but I recently asked her again and she got in a major flap about it, so I'll have to wait a while and try talking her around again!

I baught my new baby last night. Thouroghly enjoyed it untill I learned a few things

Firstly the light bulb was missing on the Speedo, although I don't really care how fast I ride. The police on the other hand seem to have something to say about it. So I can't take her out past late till the dealership sorts it for me.

Secondly the bike isn't bloomin taxed! So I will have to wait a couple of days to get my cover note before I can tax it.

Finally... it doesn't like dirt tracks lol. I took it gently down my track and it flew straight out from under me and bend the gear lever... a short attack with the plyers and it's back and running again but I learned a valuable lesson.

Apart from that the bike is wonderful and I can understand why you guys are all so dedicated to it. Oh and bloody hell does this thing shift !

you can tell the speed by rev's ect, i only just put a new drive cable on the 750, and the crossers never have them (keeps the millage down as well )

Are you talkin about a ZXR or a crosser, if its the ZXR stick to the tarmac much better. but they are good beasts to take on the twisties.

Wopps i ment speedo cables. On the crossers they snap off all the time getting court on stuff so i dont bother with them any more

The 750 one went a while back and only just replaced it, i dont really bother looking at the speedo. When your turfin around twisty back roads you dont get time to see what speed your doing

True i see what you mean there. one thing i have noticed most ppl on this site hit the 750's after the 4's are they much more expensive to insure than a 600?

I think your average VFR750 is actually cheaper to insure than a ZXR400!!!

Actually, most 750's were, if I remember correctly... YZF750, ZXR750... I think the ZX7-R was a bit more in my quotes.

I think the main reason for going to a 750 is that 600's behave pretty much the same as the 400, and there isn't much speed difference to justify a step-up without getting bored quickly (apart from the 600's in the last 4 or 5 years).

1000's are just overkill.

A 750 is plenty fast enough for the roads to ensure you can keep up with anything, and also has all the torque that a 600 lacks, so you can do long journeys without stressing the engine.

They just make the most sense after a 400.

Yea iv noticed quite afew ppl are on 750's not i wouldnt mind a ZX7 when iv done a year on the 4 but im not sure if the insurance would smite me for it. hmm but they sound like a reasonable choice. i keep lookin at bikes an thinkin if i get a 6 will it become sh@ quickly!
