Re: KDMC 2010
Went good for me - ran rogers (rmkd) engine and after a couple of run in sessions the bike feels much quicker than last year - shame that the rider isnt -
= here it is - and yes that is indeed snow in the paddock

Re: KDMC 2010
Mixed weekend for myself, first off on Saturday the battery was flat, tried to bump start it then noticed the engine was flooded!? Had to do my race assessment on another chaps bike in the end! It was alot better Saturday tho, was running nice & smooth. But then the bike started playing up, power cutting out & acceleration going. Also realised that I need to do my bike up as my bike is alot slower than everyone elses, they were all flying past me in the straights while I was giving it full throttle!
Full race exhaust, ram air & 110 jets to start with?

Re: KDMC 2010
my bike was like that last year, everyone was passing me,but the boy that had it before me was quick on it and in the top runners.they might just be getting the power on quicker and harder out of the corners.

Re: KDMC 2010
Possibly, but mine is still only a standard H2 road bike with a race fairing on it & k-tech forks & shock, so probably only about 60bhp? My main problem is Im on a tight budget, considering just doing Knockhill only this year & spend money on getting the bike running well?

I know its a bit of a hike for you but If your running on a budget (as we all are) you would probably be better doing the EF meetings. You would get twice the track time for not much more money and time permitting they sometimes add in an extra novice race.

Re: KDMC 2010
lol - dont mention that - the wife stil hasnt got over it. However, I see a business opportunity here - I have enough bed space and cooking facilities to offer trackside B&B - that way I might be able to afford the KDMC fees !!!!!!!jake wrote:snow!!![]()

Lachie
was that your new battery given you greif mate?
dont get to down hearted about it dude, my first race weekend was a total disaster that nearly put me off ever doing it again. You can get the bike sorted, and everything else will happen easier and smoother.
Its sound like you have half decent suspension, thats the main thing mate. Get that tweaked for your weight if you havent already. Then get your self a ramair box. that will need to be for a H, as the L ones dont fit. Chris at dynopro racing will make you one. That and his bellmouths will make a difference when set up on a dyno, and wont cost the earth.
Then maybee next season look into some cams and headwork.

Re: KDMC 2010
Have just noticed that the north east club are going to be running 5x10 lap races over the weekends at east fortune and knockhill as well as practise and qauly wich is very good value £200 for east fortune and £220 for knockhill.

Re: KDMC 2010
No the battery is strong, giving good voltage. It's definately the wiring, I was having a look at the wiring & diagrams last night, gonna do a re-wire & give the total loss system a go tonight. Just as well you mentioned the Ram Air, was just about to buy one, didn't realise they were different! Do you remember how much he charged you for the Ram Air & bellmouths? I'm going to get a full race exhaust at the same time, so I only have to get it dyno'd once. Cheers Jake!
