I wouldn't say I struggled, had to hammer it a bit with a rubber mallet, just was a tight fit.

you would know if the stem was bent in the bottom yoke or if the bottom yoke was twisted cos the top yoke wouldn't go over the forks.could be a slight bend soemwhere if you had to force the top yoke on.

The tyre really shouldn't be a problem. On my race bike I used to have to bend the middle brackets on the frame back and up, the brackets at the bottom back pull back and up even more, This is effectively pivoting the fairing around the front fairing bracket/mount with the bottom/back of it moving up, you should easily be able to gain at least 10mm at the front by doing that. I hope that makes sense.

If the wheel touches the oil cooler and or rad on full fork compression, then you may well have another bent frame. But, although I joked about it before, it certainly looked as if you had much more of a gap to the rad/oil cooler. With all that you've done I really hope it's not bent and hopefully just a bit of fairing bracket tweeking will sort it

I'm getting measurments of 86.5cm on mine. You sure you did it properly. Botlt hole centre to bolt hole centre? You need two people really to make it spot on. We used an allen key in the spindle and took the measurment from that.

Im not sure how much difference its going to make but my yokes have been dropped through as far as they will go. I was doing it on my own admitedly. Ill have another check in a minute, you did take it from the swingarm pivot didnt you? and the measuring tape wasnt touching the fairing?

Checked for a third time and still 85.5cm. you are measuring from the centres of the allen keys and not the edges are you?

Measured from the dead centre of each bolt hole, level tape, not touching anything. dead on 86.5 cm.

Rob, by how many mm do your forks stick out at the yoke

Just measured with my verniers, a smidge over 20mm and that the gold bit, not including the silver top. I take it your going to drop yours and measure the distance that way?

Oh, and the bike is on the side stand too, with the forks straight! So they are loaded, just realised that will make a difference. Id measure unloaded but dont have a front stand.

Lol, you sitting next to your bike or something mate? 20 mil, farkin ell. I've got about 2.5 mil poking through atm. Gonna take them down to 5 mil and see what its like. Take it you have no problems with rad/oil cooler clearance? I may drop them down to 20 and measure yeah.

I don't want to scare monger, but there's something wrong there! If you were using all the fork travel the tyre would be through the rad by now I would suggest no more than about 15mm. Have you raised the back with the shock adjuster as far as it will go? If not do that and raise the front by the same amount to get the same geometry. You must be getting slappers over bumps as well unless you've got a damper!

No probs hitting the radiator at all, not touched it once. No problems with slappers either and no steering damper. I am going to raise it back up and lift the rear when i get time as the ive found the front wants to tuck when ive got some leanage going on, although its been suggested to me to use a 120/70/17 to help. But other than that its proper darty

Scott, my bike is in my shed, i just walk down the stairs, out the back door and there it is

I think this picture puts my mind at ease.

Here's how the bike looks at the moment . Stille got a few things to bolt back on and the fairings were a Camel to get on. I think some of the mounts were damaged but they're on now. Note: Some aren't done up porperly yet hence the gap at the front. So just gonna check and re-check everything now and then take it out for a test. What do we think to the front wheel and the gap?
