this is exactly same problem i have atm - dunno if it is cam chain - as it only seems to do it when there is the weight of a rider on the bike

i put mine up on the paddock stand and took it to 4K revs (where the rattle normally kicks in for me) and nothing ! only does it when i am physically on the bike - got me proper stumped.

found a couple of other people on t'interweb with same issue - on triumphs etc... general view is cam chain

baz had a ride on it the other week for me, heard arattle but didnt think it was too bad / too much of a concern

think its getting worse - its no louder but seems to kcik in earlier down the rev range (3-5K now i would say) and can now hear it slightly when the bike is in neutral, if i just blip the throttle quickly - if i do it at a slow maintiaaned pace, still doesnt kick in

Good question...................

I've never found metric feeler gauges that are small/thin enough so I've always used imperial
Any good tool shop will have them or maybe try ebay ?

My ones are Draper...but I'd say neary any known make would be fine
