Cue "My Clutch Is Slipping" thread??

What's wrong with that, Jamz?

Semi-synth 10w/40?
That's what's specified in the specs list... which I checked, before doing the change...

Car oil doesn't have to lube the clutch like in most bike engines, and has an extra 'slippy' agent - that's the difference between motorcycle and car oil.
It often turns out to be the problem when people say their clutch is slipping - i.e. because they used car oil instead of bike!
If it does happen in yours (and I'd be amazed if it didn't, unfortunately), then drain as much as you can by leaving the plug out for a night or two and that MIGHT be enough. To be sure I'd whip out the clutchplates, put a plastic tie around them so they stay in the right order and scrub/soak them clean. Be carefull what you use to clean them because it might damage the friction material, but I should imagine something like Autoglym shampoo should be safe. Then you may even have to totally flush your oil system, but I'd think a good drain and cleaning the plates would be enough...
It shouldn't do any actual damage, and shouldn't harm anything else in the engine other than making your clucth slip, though.

Hm..
I'll keep my eyes open for that then. It's not given me any issues so far, and I've run it around the village five or six times.
Oh well, done is done, if it slips it slips, I'll jump off that bridge if and when I come to it.
