I reckon its just been sat for ages and needs a kick up the butt

it ran and he parked it up, and fitted splitfires, then it didnt.. so he buggered about with stuff and made it worse ..

i was going to go down and fix it for him but my plans changed so i didnt .. all i was going to do was fit new plugs, fresh fuel, check everything over and jump start it off a car or starter pack. Carbs would probably benefit from being checked over as its been sat for so long.. and an oil change would get all the petrol out of the sump thats probably leaked in there from numerous failed attempts to start it.

what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking ?

i paid 325, i have changed the petrol and he had the fuel pipes the wrong way round,so i changed them round, then it fired up and ran lovely, petrol was leaking out of one of the carbs at the float chamber gasket so took them off, resealed them and then couldnt get it to go again!! it was firing but that was it, i think i may have flooded it, so im going to put the new plugs in and see what happens, do you think the price i paid is ok?

i told him in a pm it was worth about 400 quid as a non-runner as i paid 450 for a non running H1 with a stainless exhaust + some usefull spares (DJ'd carbs new discs and calipers) so .. yeh £325 aint far off

has it still got the wavy discs on it ? if so BARGAIN ! lol

make sure the carbs are setup right, float heights, mix screws, clear jets n stuff + new plugs and fresh oil/filter and it should be fine mate.

when i had problems with getting mine running it turned out to be the plugs, like yours the spark was there but wasnt particularly bright.
