Exactly, but to get the most out of them on track the rider has to be extremely good, ie top level in their country or world level type riders. I've known some very fast riders junk them because they've made them slower on track. I've got some and found them great to start with, could feel the power get to the track instantaly causing the rear to slide. I junked them becuase I lost patience trying to stop them 'bogging' at lower revs

Yeah I know that, and maybe that was the problem, but that was one of the points I was trying to make, It's actually more difficult to ride the bike, you have to be a top rider to get the best out of them, at least to get more out of them compared the CVs. Personally I think making a race bike more user freindly and comfortable to ride gives you a lot more confidence and therefore speed, and that's what the Flatslides weren't doing for me. I agree I may have been a bit hasty giving them up, but I was in Spain at the time and didn't wan't to waste valluable track time trying to get them set up, there was a lot more to come from me first, befor flatslides gave me any extra speed. As it goes , I won the championship with CVs so never felt the need to perservear with flatslides

Flatslides are notorious for setting up and running problems, i was gonna get a set for my gixer but due to the hassles of flatslides think i'll give it a miss.
