Like the video, been thinking of supermoto's recently, definately want one for pissing about on.

do it rob you really wont regret it, only problem at the moment is you get 2 kinds overly focused bikes that need servicing every 500 miles MAX including checking things like valve clearances, or dull as dish water ones.

there starting to bring out some in the middel ground like the husky 610 (think im going to be getting one of these). But there only really avaible new so still very expensive

I guess the focused ones are the race ones? Never really intended for the road? Hence regular servicing and rebuilds?

Id have to go for a 4 stroke motor tho, not keen on 2 strokes. KTMs look good.

They're also a bit... boring...

And the first time a Vauxhall Nova 1.1 cruises past you down a dual carriageway it must be spirit-crushing?

It's why my mate traded in his Blade for a KTM duke, and is now looking at trading that back in for a streetfightered sportsbike.

And in complete contrast to my original post, I've just been for a quick lunchtime blast now the rain has stopped and it was bloody marvelous! I cannot get my head around how something so freakishly fast can be so tame and safe at slow speeds even on wet roads!

I liked my VFR750 second only to my ZXR400... but I think I'd forgotten just how great a properly focused sportsbike is!

Get out there and go for a blast!

If the police are around its the same for any type of bike. Difference is in the fact that both types (or any bike really) of bike offer different perks, which you go for is down to what you want out of a bike.

Dont get me wrong, id have a sports bike as well as a supermoto, that way i get the best of both worlds whenever the mood takes me

4t in supermot's on road are better by far due to 2poke power being so hard to use, as a big single gives a very smoth power cerve.

The ones that need lots of maintence are basicly race bikes yeah, but to have real fun then thats the sort of thing you would want, anything under 45 bhp isnt going to be that enjoyable after a while.

Jamz i've never had a 1.1 nova come past me a duel as i've never used one on my CRM just find the tightest twistest road i possibly can

Last time I was caught in a serious hailstorm on the motorway I remember laughing my head off because I found it hilarious how much it was hurting!

It's still a bit on the heavy side for my liking, but maybe I'll see what prices some of the later models are going for if I get this payrise...

put it on a diet then - see how much useless crap you can discard.

I remember performance bikes doing a zx7r project a few years back, shed something like 25kg off the stock weight of the bike.

Didnt that weight loss include a titanium system, aluminium petrol tank and dymag wheels?

would be pi$$ easy to lose loads of weight of the zx7r, standard system feels like its off a tank, front fairing with lights is stuiped heavy, rear sub frame ect. Was sent out of the factory with loads of stuff it dosnt need then the wsb teams ect would strip all the crap off and turn it into a very competative bike

Well it's got a grab rail on the back that I'll be getting rid of, and I've haven't put the rubber cover back after I changed the headlight bulb!

I reckon I could do with losing a stone, too!
