it was a standard system too! Why you would throw away what i assume is a perfectly good set of pipes is crazy! Oh well

The split is about 6 inches in front of the collector. I assume the top two pipes are welded together and is where is has rotten, just underneath a brace of some sort that join the two.

I want another system, so i wont spend the money. More time i spend repairing it the less i can ride it!

They'd been laying around my garage for ages taking up room, they're off my track bike and never got used and I didn't think it was worth the hassle on eBay..... Stoopid now that I look back at it.

MOT was a few weeks back so got nearly a year to sort it

Is this for your ZX7R Robb? I got a Micron full stainless steel system with scorpion carbon can with removable baffle going on ebay very soon (as soon as I can be bothered to remove it)! Also going to remove the dynojet kit and will be selling that too, so would be less time for the person to set up as they could use my base settings.

ok where do i start...

- you're gonna have fun trying to weld an ally patch onto a steel pipe.

- if you know where i can get a tig set that'll do ally properly for <£100 please tell.

- you can buy a MIG set for that sort of money that will stick a steel patch on quite happily. or you can find a garage with a welder who will do it for beer money. or you can come to notts and i'll do it!

i knew someone who's zxr downpipes were made pretty much entirely from a combination of cider cans and exhaust paste, wrapped with coathanger wires. i'd go for scrumpy jack - tastes nicer and the cans are thicker than strongbow.

Well it seems to be holding up. Ive done nearly 200 miles i think since i done it and not a hint of blowing. Im pretty certain tho it was the riding in all this f-ing rain that loosened it up or something. There was quite a bit left stuck to the pipe, so perhaps the new stuff stuck better??
