Hello again people.

My old ZXR is now around York area so anyone from around there may recognise it :smt001

You see thats nice, im tempted by a gixxer, im thinking of the 750, but everyone has got a gixxer. And they are a bit chavvy (present company excluded baz :smt002 ) i think. But its the only decent 750 sports bike around at the moment....

beautifull machine, but me and baz will tell you doesnt have much grunt in it, i must admit in some ways i was very dissapointed with the P1 model i owned, its just the 636 seems well more powerfull and just out handles it from stock, but thats just my opinion, still good to look at real nice in green n white colours, ah could just buy and put it on the mantle piece,

Still got my ZXR, but have not ridden it in 5 years, will hopefully have it back on the road within the next few weeks.

Use my R1 most of the time, but over the last couple of months have really wanted to get back on the 400.

Had a look at a brand new GSXR 600 all in black yesterday. Looked awesome and felt lovely. Was very tempted but for some reason I still love the ZXR's. Only thing I found was the ZX6R was a bit too big and the GSXR600 was a perfect size!!

Only thing is as Rob said...everyone's got a GSXR!! I've only had a ZXR400 so can't say if I would miss it to ride a bigger bike. Bike looks really nice kb-zxr. Gonna need to change your name now :smt003

Nothing wrong with the 7R, i just come back from a rideout on it and ive fallen back in love with it, since september the only reason ive used my bike is to get from A to B, it started to loose its appeal as i never rode it for pleasure.

But just gone out for an hour and gave it its head, chewed the rear tyre up a bit, popped some wheelies waved to pretty ladies and motorcycle mad children on the pavement, the world is a wonderful place today!

the 7r is fat, old and lumpy. but for me its got something newer bikes aint - character!

for me, all new bikes r the same. all jumped up lightweights on steroids but so similar they r losing identity. the only thing that sets them apart is the paint imo

as im an 'average' rider the 7r offers great torque, perfect handing and r getting so rare that they always turn heads, especially with its gorgeous front end look

plus its reputation proceeds in being an old skool nutcase!

Id agree with that Gem, was even considering selling it to get a newer bike but everytime I go out on it, it completely changes my mind! Itd probably be cheaper to put the money into making it a better bike. The only thing i dont like about it is that it weighs alot, running around earlier on reserve the bike very so so much better than with a full tank of fuel.

One question about yours, when it gets hot does the idle get lumpy? Mine gets a really lumpy idle speed and it gets worse the hotter it gets, almost to the point you think the engine is gonna stop. It went away after i got it serviced last year but its crept back.

tbh mate mine is fine on the warm tickover, but they r renound for their short servicing intervals - i heard every 2000miles for an oil change!

the 7r is heavy, but thing is u only really notice it when pushing it around when parking at a bike meet, and if i wanted something to push around a car park id have bought a shopping trolley.

i find with mine, once u get it rolling the weight just adds to stability, u can go in or out of a corner any fashion and the bike will hold the line. not many bikes will allow that.

and despite its bulk, they are really flickable.

new bikes r too small, like the R6. it resembles a midi moto to me.

seems daft to me that more and more ppl these days r getting fat and the bikes r on crash diets!

Average rider my ass mate :), according to Masters, you can really blitz down the warwickshire country lanes, i'll quote Masters from a couple years ago when you was riding the zxr, he said " he went round some corners i didnt think he'd make, so average my ass,

by the way guys im not saying the 7r is a bad bike, its just evoution on modern bikes, some have evolved ugly but have smooth power lets just say pretty much all fuel injected fire blades are that ugly, then theres the R1 beautifull bike, the 2007 is the best yet, and have it in black, but then theres the power, its like nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing then WHHOOOOOSH hold the f**k on power, i guess this is also directed at u gems one of ya previous statements saying most modern bikes lack character, i dont think so, each manufacturers bike is different, like i say
fireblade forgiving power delivery
suzuki gsxr 1000 smooth but extremely powerfull,
R1 fcuking mental insane top end power band but long wheel base
zx10r especially the 2005 model, awesome low down grunt the zx10 being the most brutal 1 litre bike on the market, exept the gixxer may have better handling then the fireblade will probably have even better handling, so you see it aint just paint thats different, there all unique bikes even in this day n age, anyways take it easy,

yeah it does seem to loose weight once its rolling, but you really notice when its got a low tank of fuel. I think id look bloody stupid on a new bike considering im 6'1".
