it will probably cost you more in paint & gear than to get it powdercoated

it is odd that they don't have their own shot blasting facility. However it was quite a while ago that I made the enquiry, perhaps they have the facility to shotblast now, it was only a small place.

oops I've quoted the wrong post. I meant to quote the one saying about most places do their own blasting first.

matt black!
don't go for another green one.
actually I reckon you could do a nice combination of matt black with ford/new zx6/dyno-rod orange.

well a little secret. a guy at work would sell me a zxr400 not running for £300 he has been told its a knackred gearbox and he has a replcement.(and i do) I have never done anythign on bikes but once worked fixing ford transits. and figure it would be nice to strip a zxr400 down and rebuild it, cleaning and painting as i go. Buti thought hey why not make it something diffrent, and and currently thinking of someways i could do something special with it. i would like a underseat exhaust, but thinking the piping would be tight.

i rebuilt a zxr for my mate, it had a full respray black, it looks nice. My one will look the same although with gold wheels and a more shiney silver frame:

Diamond Like Coating is an extremely hard (3500HV) black coating applied to fork stanchions and shock shafts that is harder still than Titanium Nitride.
bet it's expensive though.
