I had a similar thing my on ZXR once, turned out to be a split in one of the radiator pipes - couldn't get the vacuum sorted to suck coolant throught the system.

check for split/blocked pipes.

I would have had to have had the farts pretty bad as well to make it steam so I reakon it must be the bike and not me
