Callum, only remove parts your confident you can replace - yes , it's good to learn how to do these things but you need tools & workshop manual too not just posts on a forum.

What we are trying to do here is give you the simplest solution to get the bike running again , if it runs like a bag of crap once you do get it going then you can rip it to bits to your hearts content.

Cure one problem then move onto the next before potentially creating more, removing carbs can cause problems in itself and dismantling them even more.

I can already imagine the list of " I rebuilt the bike but it ........... " threads to come :smt005

Establish a working base and go from there - apart from anything else, wouldn't it be nice that a fresh set of plugs cures it and job done ?
