did you go to symtek jamz? steve at symtek is usually very helpful and has always done my chains for me, what i did was get a split link connector to get me down to symtek where they rivetted a proper link on, by the way let us know if you fancy going for a blast this weekend.

First place i went!!!!!! :D

They don't do EK chains either, so didn't have any soft-links.....

I've tried all the Redditch places, so i'll have to branch out a bit and try Genesis in Bromsgrove and Chas Mann in Kings Norton. Somewhere MUST do them??? :?

I suppose i could find one online - but most part suppliers have a standard courier charge, where 2 first class stamps should do it!!!

You got yer bike back on the road then, Baz???

My clutch is slipping so badly at the moment i wouldn't stand a chance against your tiny lil old slow bike, and you might get all cocky :P , so i'll probably be trying to stay off it and use the petrol money towards some clutchplates for a while....

Either way, it's Dudley Zoo today, then the wench will be here for the rest of the weekend....

Piggin Ada!!! :x

Does anywhere even DO soft-links for EK chains????

Called all the local shops, Bartons, and even Cradley Kawasaki, and still can't track one down....

It seems the EK continuous chain is what comes as an original part from the ZXR Factory - so it worries me that the main Kwak dealers don't even have soft-links for them. :?

I'll have a trawl around online parts sites - if anyone knows anywhere that might do them, i'd appreciate it!!!

I'm not dismantling the swingarm just to get a new chain on :| (not that i really can anyway with just a rear stand  )

All it says on the links on my chain is "EK520MVO" :? and that's not there lol!!!

Surely one of the buggers there will do the job??? :?

Jamz, am i right in saying the money youve spent in travelling, phoning, and just the hassle in general, wouldnt it have been easier to buy new ones????

Nope - it would have been easier to make sure they didn't send me a continuous link chain!!!

Phonecalls cost me nothing cause i'm using the work phone, just the sprockets on their own would have cost me close to the money i paid for the set, and i'm sure someone will buy this chain if i end up buying another...

The part i need to sort all this out will cost about £5 tops - it's just trying to find the fkr!!! :x

I have just changed the chain and spockets on mine and it had an EK chain on previously.....that was a continuous chain though which makes me think that EK don't supply chiains with rivet links...I had to hack saw mine off!!!

I use an angle grinder to break chains.

If your careful you can just grind off the end of two pins and the chain will be reusable with a soft link.
