MM,
With respect dude, rather than my post being ill thought through I feel your own logic is seriously flawed. I agree with you that no-one has the right to be opinionating about aspects of someone else's behaviour which does not affect them, but that's the nub of the matter.
Uninsured riders affect my life every day. They affect it cos I have less money in my pocket with which to live my life because I am paying higher insurance premiums than I would have to. It doesn't matter that I'm a safe rider, my insurance still gets loaded to cover the increasing chance that I might be involved in an accident that isn't my fault with someone who is not insured. Or with someone who has invalidated their insurance. That means my insurance will foot the bill and my premium has to reflect that. Everyone who pays insurance is affected in this way and all the insurers are increasing premiums as a result of this issue.
I don't care what other people do in their lives if it doesn't affect me but when their behaviour has a direct impact on me then I do have a right to kick off about it and say I'm not happy. That's not self-righteousness, that's just stating your own position on the issue.

If your in an incident with uninsured it is a civil case and nothing to do with insurance companies what so ever.
You are paid out of a central guberment fund and they sue or jail the responsible (irresposable party) - no insurance companies involved unless you use it to pay for a solicitor then they get paid out of the central fund too.
Why your premium goes up?
THEFT
Insured drivers crashing !
Insured drivers crashing and claiming all manner of shite ! Now you may well say your entitled to grievence money , out of pocket expences , family trauma , lost earnings , damaged clothes , personal trauma etc.....
BUT that raises everyones premiums ! Rather than thinking of the bigger picture everyone is out for themselves - free money, f*** yeah !
How can a 125GBP policy pay an insurance company back when the owner of policy puts a claim in for 6,500GBP , it cant - so everyones does.
The uninsured however dont pay into the system or abuse the system - they face criminal action rather than a slap on the wrists , points on their licence or some sort of ban, now you wonder why I say:
Having insurance makes you a lazy driver/rider as your butt is covered ! I have public indemity insurance here as the victim will sue , this year my policy states no limit on personal injury to another. I guess that means if I ever cause an accident they will be raping that clause to the full limit as they are entitled but hey, wait a minute - doesn't that just mean we all pay more next year !
It's an insurance catch22 and nothing to do with the uninured - they are prosecuted by law not insurance companies.
Driving on the roads outwith the laid down rules of the law has nothing to do with insurance, claiming on your insurance does - fact !
When I got caught driving with out insurance I got taken to court not to a local insurance burea and told I was a naughty boy, I got further punished by the insurance company when I had an IN10 on my licence yet I had never claimed but my premium was higher than anyone else in the same circumstances with a clean licence so how do you figure that I caused all those folks to pay more ?
Pikeys & scammers are who you need to judge
MM!
