a neat lil' mod is to put in LED brake light bulbs from the bike-it catalogue. they cost a couple of quid each, drop straight in (no mods like with indicators) and save from 10w to 40w (the latter when braking). This will stop your headlights dimming when you brake, and save precious batter power.

EDIT; found my old post:

"And if you want to save a few watts, get a pair of led rear/brake bulbs from bike it. They don't require any wiring alterations like led indicators do, and they save 10w normally, and 40w saving under braking. That why your main beams dim a little when you brake - your two brake bulbs run at 21w each! they're 21/5w, the led ones are <1w. think they're only a few quid. take 2 mins to fit. did mine a few days ago, work wonderfully.

http://www.bikeit.co.uk/bikeit2011/index.html

go to page 150-151, item number LEDBLB01 (red - the white ones make you look pink!)"

on the subject of battery power, one thing to note is that these lil' beauties have very small batteries, and it doesn't take much of a drop in charge for them to be unable to spark when turning the engine. So if you do run out of fuel or such like, don't keep cranking it, or you might have a flat battery to add to your woes!

Love the black paint scheme too, mine's black and purple!

and wheel tape isn't for gheys and girls...

I've got pink wheel tape! And pink allen bolts on the filler cap... and the original number plate had the legend "my other toy has batteries"... confuddled

ok, so maybe the last owner was gay or a girl, but that isn't the point! :pmsl

Hello Bibby!

Is it just the camera angle or has the front brake lever been bent? It looks like a banana :pmsl It should be straight, like the clutch lever. If it is bent it will be weak and you might want to replace it. Don't try to straighten it, it will break. You can get a pattern one here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWASAKI-ZXR400-Z ... 2a0b451dd9 for not much. I bought a clutch lever from these guys and would recommend.

apart from that, its a nice bike :)
Hmm....... rimtape is pretty inoffensive stuff. For the real feminine touch, to totally wreck a bike you need to mod with -

1. Coloured anodised parts
2. Adhesive 'carbon fibre' sheets
3. Coloured screens / headlight covers

In no particular order of offensiveness :smt011

I'm impressed, you came all the way down here, and have been rooting through my garage! You've seen the pink anodised bolt on the fuel cap, the fake carbon fibre yoke cover, and the black tinted screen! :smt005

my hatrick was done by the previous owner! Not that i've made any attempt to alter it!

any what's wrong with that bike rob? I think it looks realy good.

then again , I like vanilla ice's gsxr, and the odd gsx1100r N paint schemes from the early 90s!
