Well....

Bad news I'm afraid. My frame is bent. 3 n half mil pushed inwards and twisted 2 mil. Hence why it was standing dodgey on the sidestand. I'm gutted. The bike's got to be stripped down to the ground and completely start again. I know it may sound like a stupid question but I don't know where to start, anyone got any advice? I'm gonna buy some of those bigass plastic boxes that you can get from pound land and put bits and bobs in them, get some envelopes and put all the nuts n bolts in them and label them up. Anymore tricks are welcome.

Take detailed pictures of things before you remove them / strip them down. (Can you tell I used to have a 2 stroke? lol)

This helps when putting them back together and realising that they can go both ways - But only one way is correct. lol

thats bad news scott, but dont worry... its nowhere near as daunting as you may think. When you have stripped/rebuilt it once you will never worry about it again. peice of piss mate.
get yourself a roll of little food bags and label them. I find with the loom, i just stick a sticky label to each side of the connection with a number on it, so i can just hook emn back up later no probs.
dont forget to drain the water and oil out before you drop the engine.
just get stuck in, clean up a nice space in the garage and have a brew. If it makes you feel better, there is nothing like riding a bike that you have built and know is all good and right.

scott if you can get it to mine we'll do it together and if you're havin that frame of mine it'll be easier taking stuyff off yours and sticking it straight into the new frame.up to you mate.its easier for me to do it than getting to yours to help.

Thanks for the reply's fellas. Baz, I can get it to yours, but what about checking the engine and stuff? How long do you think it would take us? Me and gem are on about taking the frame and our wheels to be powdercoated together next weekend.

what was you gonna check? valve clearances and cam chain? does it need it? thought it sounded fine?

am i missing something or can you not just get the frame jigged straight ?

tbh, a couple of mill is probably not far off what it was new, they're never completely straight, there's a thread on motoforum atm about the fact that all the superstock bikes get jigged straight before even being built and wether it shortens frame life.

Have you seen the front wheel? It leans so far over on the side stand that it looks like its gonna topple over. The frame is bent and the bloke (who builds frames) said there could be hair line cracks. Its just not worth it. You can even see where the metal has folded near the headstock.

Baz, checking things whilst the engine is out makes everything easier, I might aswell.

PART 2...

Of this Epic rebuild, just started to strip down the bike, half the loom is disconnected, the subframe is off, mudgaurd, chain guard, airbox, carbs, coils, speedo, and many cables lights indicators etc are off the bike. Still a long way to go yet. I'm quickly running out of space so I need to hire a garage from around the corner where I can store some bits and pieces. Here are some pics of the bike atm. Today I mostely labelled the loom and took loads of pics of where the wires went, how they were sitting in the frame etc.

I am really enjoying this!

Honest.. I thought I'd be smashing my head off the garage wall and swearing at my nan. But I'm learning so much about how this thing works its awsome. Anyhow, got on with stuff today, sorted out some more of the loom, labelled some more of that up, got the rad out aswell which took much longer than I thought. So now the bike is ready for the engine to come out.





And my favourite so far, you know you have a problem with your bike when half of it is....
