Cool Thanks MM!
the L9 mixture screws were set to 1.5 turns, the L2 carbs were 2 turns, so the L9 carbs have been matched and the bike backfired with an impressive flame but no go yet, didn't get to try it out properly as the battery ran flat in the process, this is all becoming alot more difficult than i previously thought

both carbs have been stripped down and cleaned out but seem to be fine its still bugging me that the bike wont start now :-S both carbs have 95 main jets in.. not sure if thats of any help to anyone interested? i guess its just a case of playing with the mixture screws till she runs then get her on a dyno? (provided this even fixes the possible head gasket..)
