Europe!

Post by Vard66 »

On the 21st of this month I spent 6 days driving through Europe on a banger rally - The Crumball Rally - The Italian Job.

We (60 teams of 2 people minimum) spent three days and about 1600 miles driving down through France, Switzerland and Italy, checkpointing at some of the major locations from the 1969 film of the same name.

Some of the most utterly glorious roads I've ever had the pleasure of driving, and ones that had me figuratively salivating at the thought of coming back and doing them on a sports bike.

D6202 - Route Napoleon - fast, smooth, beautiful scenery lots of tunnels, lakes...
Col du Turini - problems getting your knee down? This road will make you bored of doing it. Left-right-left-right-left-right 180 switchbacks for oh, dunno, 25miles by road, 4 as the crow flies up the side of a mountain? :excited
The road following the Col du Turini, iirc the D2204 - basically more of the same as you head through to Nice.

Glooooorious.
Vard.
