interchangeable between years?

Post by R P Corse »

i know H models are all the same ... but is there any interchangeable parts between the H's and L's?

i should really do my research lol but im a bit puzzled where to start, looking at new discs - are they the same fit on ALL models? same with exhaust systems - downpipes all the same? does anyone have a list of parts that can be changed etc..

obviously i want parts that dont have to be cut and welded to fit, im just interested in straight swaps.

thanks. B

Exhausts do swap but discs dont or at least not without some alterations

Forks - nope , even if you swap everything you need the pin changed on the tripples for a H and then 50mm extensions onto the L forks as they are too short.

Ls are lower - mmmmmmmmm , L = Lower :smt005

They are also longer - mmmmmmmmm , L = Longer

Should have been a LL :smt017

Just seen a SP400 class SP that was raced profesionally and has a modified H1 arm on it to give higher corner speed with a shorter wheel base :smt004

much appreciate the info guys!

i guess i'll have to get the front end repaired then, im sure one of the legs are bent, it hates cornering in the wet turning right but left is fine - tips in a lot quicker on the right!

is it worth sending the forks off to a company to get them straightened and set up for me or would it be cheaper to get a set or forks from another bike like the 636 etc..

If you get 636 forks you could hone out the bottom clamp - you need to take out R0.5 and they will slip in - need top hats made for your axle if you want to keep the 4's wheel and speedo drive plus a couple of wheel spacers.

Fit the complete 636 front end and your left with no speedo drive.

nice one mate! appreciate the help, im used to working on Aprilia's n 2 strokes! sorry for all the questions!

final question about forks spoke to a few companies earlier asking about rebuilding my forks, do the stantions from L models fit the H's (not the slide - the bit that holds the calipers!) as they are what need replacing.
